What does the FitMachine sensor monitor?

FitMachine tracks vibration, temperature, and noise in real time, providing early warnings for equipment anomalies.

FitPower tracks energy consumption patterns to identify inefficiencies and potential equipment issues, enabling proactive maintenance and optimised energy usage.

MachineCloud is a cloud-based platform that consolidates sensor data into an intuitive dashboard that doesn’t overwhelm you with mountains of analytics and data. It provides insights such as equipment condition, historical trends, and alarm management, accessible from anywhere.

MOVUS sensors are built for industrial environments:

  • Operating Temperature: -15°C to 85°C.
  • Ingress Protection: Rated IP65 for dust and water resistance.

The standard data collection rates for the MOVUS sensors are:

  • FitMachine: collects data every 15 minutes and uploads it to MachineCloud every hour.
  • FitPower: collects and uploads data to MachineCloud every 5 minutes.

Yes, the data collection and reporting rates can be optimised to suit individual assets to provide optimum condition monitoring.

Set to standard data collection rates and in good network conditions you can expect 2 years battery life from the sensors.

MOVUS offers access through a web dashboard and mobile apps (iOS and Android) for sensor setup and monitoring. Integration is also available via a REST API for business processes.

All sensors include measured data threshold alarms, with a high and high-high type setting. FitMachine also has AI based alarms that are self learning to the specific asset it’s monitoring.

You have the option of being notified of an event or alarm indicating a significant change of your assets by SMS, Email or both.  Additionally, a daily email is sent out providing a summary of recent alarms and their current status.

While magnetic mounting is provided by default as it is quick to install and easy to relocate, other options exist that might be more suitable to your application.

Installation and Setup Questions

How easy is it to install the FitMachine and FitPower sensors?

The FitMachine and FitPower sensors are designed for plug-and-play installation. Simply attach the sensor to the equipment and onboard it using the mobile app.

  1. Install the Sensor: Secure the sensor, for Fitmachine to a clean, flat surface, for FitPower to the power cable of the asset.
  2. Connect to Network: Use the mobile app to connect to a WiFi or MOVUS Gateway.
  3. Enter Equipment Details: Add location, power rating, and other information during setup.

The MachineCloud mobile app (available on iOS and Android) guides you through onboarding. It includes scanning the sensor, connecting it to a network, and inputting basic equipment details.

WiFi and Communications Requirements

What are the communication requirements for MOVUS sensors?
  • WiFi Network: 2.4 GHz network required.
  • Signal Strength: A strong, stable connection (RSSI of -70 dBm or better) ensures optimal performance.

Yes, provided there is cellular coverage you can use a MOVUS cellular WiFi gateway for connectivity.

On average, each sensor transmits 1-2 MB of data per day.

How secure is the data collected by MOVUS sensors?

MOVUS ensures robust security with:
